What it is

We offer two tests, which answer different questions and are sometimes used together. The gut microbiome test is a functional analysis. Rather than simply counting which bacteria are present, it looks at what they are doing, assessing the functions your microbiota carries out. It draws on a database of more than three and a half thousand bacterial species and one hundred and fifty functional pathways, built over eighteen years of research. The allergy and intolerance test screens a panel of two hundred and fifty to three hundred items covering common foods and environmental triggers, from a blood or saliva sample. Both are read by Dr Inna alongside your consultation.

Who it is for

Considered where skin symptoms have not responded to treatment applied to the skin alone, or where inflammation, digestive symptoms, recurring flare ups or dietary patterns suggest the cause may sit internally. The relationship between gut health and skin is an active area of research. Testing is used to inform your plan, not to diagnose or treat disease.

What to expect

The allergy and intolerance test uses a blood or saliva sample. You can give it here at the clinic, or we can send a kit to your home and arrange a courier to collect it. Your report is returned by email, and we then sit down with you to go through what it found. From there we set out a short term elimination plan and, where useful, dietary and supplement guidance to go alongside your treatment plan. Results from the allergy and intolerance test are available within two weeks.
