What it is
A peel applies an acid formulation to the skin at a controlled depth, lifting away damaged surface cells so that clearer skin comes through. We hold a range of strengths, from very light formulations to deeper corrections, and the choice is made for your skin type and the concern being treated rather than offered as a fixed menu. Because depth is controlled, peels can be performed through the summer provided aftercare is followed.
Who it is for
Suitable for pigmentation, congestion, uneven texture and dullness across most skin types, with the formulation chosen accordingly. Not suitable if you have an open wound, an active infection or a cold sore in the area, in which case we will rebook you.
What to expect
Stop retinol, glycolic acid, salicylic acid and other exfoliating products forty eight hours beforehand, do not shave or wax the area for twenty four hours, and avoid tanning beds and self tan for two weeks. Tell us about any cold sore history. Afterwards the skin may flush, tighten and then flake depending on depth. Do not pick or scratch for ten to fourteen days. Avoid vitamin A and acid products for seven days or until any peeling has finished, and leave other facial treatments alone.
