What it is

Ultrasound passes high frequency vibration through the skin, producing a gentle micro massage at cell level and a slight rise in temperature within the tissue. That improves circulation and the movement of nutrients into cells, and it also helps drive prescribed preparations deeper than they would reach if simply applied to the surface. Iontophoresis achieves a similar delivery using a low electrical current instead. Different applicators are used for the face, the eyelids and the body, each at its own frequency.

Who it is for

Suitable for congested, inflamed or dull skin, and useful where a prescribed preparation needs to reach beyond the surface. Not suitable over broken skin, or if you have a pacemaker or another implanted electrical device.

What to expect

Come with clean skin and no make up. A conductive medium is applied and the applicator is moved slowly over the area. You feel a mild warmth and very little else. There is no downtime, no visible marking and you can apply make up and carry on immediately afterwards.
