What it is
Virtue RF is a third generation microneedling radiofrequency device. Fine needles create controlled channels in the skin while radiofrequency energy is released from their tips at a set depth, anywhere between 0.1 and 3.5 millimetres. The heat prompts the skin to produce new collagen, and the channels themselves trigger its repair response. Two frequencies are available. The lower spreads energy more widely for general firming, the higher concentrates it for scarring and enlarged pores. Insulated needle tips deliver the energy only to the deeper layers, leaving the surface of the skin protected.
Who it is for
Suitable if you have early laxity, uneven texture, enlarged pores, acne scarring or stretch marks and want structural change without surgery. The device is cleared for use on Fitzpatrick skin types I to V. Not suitable if you are pregnant, have an active skin infection in the area, or have a pacemaker or another implanted electrical device.
What to expect
Topical anaesthetic is applied and left to work before treatment begins. The handpiece is passed across the area and you will feel pressure and warmth with each pass. Afterwards the skin is red and feels warm, much like mild sunburn, usually settling within twenty four to forty eight hours. Fine pinpoint marking where the needles entered is normal and fades over a few days.
Results
Firming and texture change develop as new collagen forms, so the fullest effect appears weeks to months after a course rather than immediately. Depth and frequency are set for the concern being treated, which is why the same device is used differently for laxity than for scarring.
